Two U.S. admirals are being investigated for their roles in a major bribery scandal, Navy officials announced in a statement on Friday. Top intelligence officer Vice Adm. Ted Branch and the Navy's director of intelligence operations, Rear Adm. Bruce Loveless, face probes for their involvement with a Singapore-based defense contractor, whose CEO who was arrested in September for bribing Navy officers for access to classified documents in exchange for money and prostitutes. Though the statement did not say what tipped off authorities about Branch and Loveless's possible involvement, it said that the alleged misconduct occurred before either of them became admirals. Branch and Loveless have had their access to classified materials suspended and have been placed on leave.
