The Liberian Ebola patient in Dallas is in critical but stable condition, and will now be getting an experimental treatment. Dallas Presbyterian Hospital announced Monday it will administer a drug called brincidofovir. It's made by Chimerix, a biopharmaceutical company that specializes in oral antivirals for diseases with high unmet medical need. The drug was being developed for smallpox and adenovirus. Meanwhile, a nurse treating an Ebola victim in Spain has now tested positive for the virus. She is the first person in the current outbreak known to have become infected outside of Africa. She was part of the team that treated Spanish priest Manuel Garcia Viejo, who died from the virus in Spain after working in Africa.
