Two U.S. Immigration and Enforcement agents were shot, one fatally, in Mexico Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security said. The two agents were driving between Monterrey and Mexico City when the shooting occurred, although the details of the attack remain unclear. An ICE official said this is the first shooting of their agents in Mexico. About 30 officers are stationed in Mexico City, working on issues like drugs, weapons, currency, and immigration. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano condemned the shooting, calling it “an attack against all those who serve our nation and put their lives at risk for our safety."
