Ronnie Smith, a 33-year-old American citizen who was teaching chemistry in Libya, was shot and killed while jogging before work in Benghazi Thursday morning. The incident fell just two days before Smith was scheduled to return to America for the holidays. “He dedicated so much of his time for all his students,” an 18-year-old student of Smith's told NBC. “He chose to come here and help us and risk his life and now I can’t believe he’s gone.” As of Thursday afternoon, no party had come forward to claim responsibility.
