The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations says other countries have agreed to launch airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. “We will not do the airstrikes alone,” Samantha Power said on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday. She made it clear that the United States has received confirmation from other countries that they will launch airstrikes in Syria but refused to specify which ones. “We’re going to leave it to other nations to announce for themselves what their specific commitments to the coalition are going to be,” she added. The United States has already launched airstrikes against ISIS militants in Iraq, and Obama has authorized strikes in Syria. On the other hand, France launched airstrikes in Iraq, but President François Hollande ruled out Syrian involvement. However, Power reiterated her belief that the United States will not go it alone with airstrikes in Syria. “I will make you a prediction. We will not do the airstrikes alone if the president decides to do the airstrikes,” she said on ABC's This Week.
