World Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt has decided to adopt the one thing in the world who might one day outrun him—a baby cheetah named Lightning Bolt. On his first trip to Africa, Bolt said his decision to sponsor the three-month-old cheetah required a change of heart, since he nearly ran away from a fully grown cheetah when he first encountered one at the beginning of his trip. He will pay $13,700 to adopt the cub and will contribute $3,000 more a year for it to live in a national park in Nairobi. The money goes to the Kenya Wildlife Service, which works to protect Kenya’s endangered species.
