The Salt Lake City police officer who became infamous after controversially arresting a hospital nurse wants to apologize, according to his attorney. Greg Skordas, who is representing Detective Jeff Payne, said his client “would love the chance to talk to people about what happened and why it happened and how he would do it differently.” Payne arrested the nurse in July when she refused to let him take a blood sample from a man who’d been hit during a police chase. Payne did not have a warrant or the patient's permission. “Jeff would love the chance to sit down and apologize for what happened here,” Skordas said. “If he could do this over he would do it over differently.”
