Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has erased a breast from the state seal on pins given to his staffers. Virginia's seal depicts Roman goddess Virtus standing triumphantly over Tyranny, her blue one-shouldered tunic exposing her left breast. At no cost to taxpayers, Cuccinelli gave staffers a design, cooked up in a staff meeting, with an armored breastplate covering the offending mammary. The state attorney general said it would make the image PG. Cuccinelli made headlines in March after he told state universities they did not have legal authority to protect gay employees from discrimination. In 2002, then-U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft drew scorn for having custom drapes made to hide the exposed chest of a statue of the Spirit of Justice.
