Van der Sloot Charged in Extortion

Joran van der Sloot may be in trouble in Peru, where he’s accused of murdering 21-year-old Stephany Flores, but it appears the case isn’t closed on his previous problems either: The U.S. attorney in Birmingham, Alabama, has accused van der Sloot of seeking $250,000 from an unnamed person in exchange for information on the location of Natalee Holloway’s body. Van der Sloot remains the main suspect in the disappearance of Holloway, which took place in Aruba five years ago.
