A lawyer for Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, said on Wednesday that his client did not sense warning signs from Paddock before he carried out the massacre which killed 59 people and injured hundreds more. In a prepared statement read by her lawyer, Danley said: “He never said anything to me, or took any action that I was aware of, that I understood in any way to be a warning that something horrible like this was going to happen. It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone.” Danley also said in the statement that she “hoped for a quiet future” with Paddock, whom she described as a “kind, caring, quiet man.” Danley was in the Philippines when the shooting occurred on Sunday night. She arrived back in the U.S. on Tuesday night.
