A pair of erupting volcanoes in Latin America, hundreds of miles removed from each other, are wreaking havoc in Guatemala and Ecuador, leading to thousands of evacuations. The Pacaya volcano has killed at least 2 people and injured over 50 in Guatemala while Ecuador's Tungurahua volcano has forced several villages to flee while shutting down air traffic in Guayaquil, the country's largest city. Parts of Guatemala City are blanketed with ash and the airport has been forced to close. It's unclear whether there is any relation between the two eruptions.
