No hard feelings: Though she was passed over to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that she conceived and got off the ground, Elizabeth Warren praised Obama’s nominee for the role in an op-ed in the Huffington Post on Monday. Warren called Obama’s pick, Richard Cordray, a “strong leader” with a “proven track record.” She also warned of the bureau’s enemies in Washington—namely Republican senators who are out to water down the agency’s authority. "I remain hopeful that those who want to cripple this consumer bureau will think again and remember that the financial crisis—and the recession and job losses that it sparked—began one lousy mortgage at a time," Warren wrote.
