The 2010 NBA Draft kicked off with a quick decision by the Washington Wizards to pick 19-year-old Kentucky freshman guard John Wall. The Philadelphia 76ers went next and, as expected, nabbed Ohio State guard Evan Turner. Then 18-year-old Derrick Favors was chosen by the New Jersey Nets, and Minnesota picked Wesley Johnson. The Sacramento Kings chose another 19-year-old Kentucky freshman, DeMarcus Cousins, and the Golden State Warriors took Ekpe Udoh. The Memphis Grizzlies picked Xavier Henry, who inspired the Jay Bilas quote of the night, describing Henry as “mostly left-handed.” Halfway through the first round, five freshmen under the age of 20 have been chosen to play in the NBA.
