Over at the New Yorker, Web titan Arianna Huffington gets the profile treatment from Lauren Collins (who is always worth reading). Collins sees two themes underpinning Huffington’s career. First: “anti-relativism”—“In her world view, agnosticism may be the greatest sin.” Second: “the conviction that the worst imaginable fate would be to have people not pay attention to her at all.” Nothing assuages that fear quite like an eponymous website that outdrew Drudge in traffic this February. Or an overstuffed Facebook account. When Collins solicited Huffington’s digital friendship, she received an automated reply: “Arianna has too many friends.”
