Reporters from the Chicago Tribune have collaborated and offered examples of their ghost writing skills—gratis—to hero captain “Sully” Sullenberger, who recently inked a multi-million dollar deal for a memoir and collection of poetry. Their pitch for the memoir, titled The Wind Beneath My Wings, features riveting descriptions of pilot life such as "behind the double-paned windows, my crew was exhausted, and I was eating my fourth plate of chicken wings." Their poetry, written in easily-accessible haiku form, captures the horrific realization of engine failure: "Flying high indeed/Until suddenly we're not/Idiotic geese." Not bad. We like to think Sully is dialing up the Tribune right now.
