A man who pretended to be one of the Winklevoss twins—venture capitalists famous for their legal battles with Harvard classmate Mark Zuckerberg over the creation of Facebook—pleaded guilty Wednesday to scheme to defraud, grand larceny, and identity theft. Arun Ganguly purported to be Tyler Winklevoss in emails and “forged numerous documents in March and June 2014 pledging to invest money and make payments” under his name, according to the New York County district attorney’s office. He also posed as the twins’ father, Howard Winklevoss, and pretended to be closely associated with the twins as part of multiple schemes to be hired and extract money from “investment funds, start-up companies, and high-net-worth individuals.”
