George “The Animal” Steele, a WWE Hall of Famer, has died at age 79. Steele, whose real name is William James Myers, said last year that he was dealing with “serious health issues,” and was reportedly in and out of hospice care recently. Steele was a high school teacher and wrestling coach before entering pro wrestling. He holds a master’s degree from Central Michigan and played football at Michigan State. Steele was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995.
