Yemen’s Parliament on Saturday passed a new amendment to limit the sweeping immunity law put in place in November as part of a deal to get President Ali Abdullah Saleh to hand over power. The new agreement will limit the immunity for “political” crimes committed by Saleh’s officials if there is proof of “acts of terrorism.” But Saleh himself will still enjoy full protection. The embattled president agreed in November to step down after 33 years in power.
