Has Zero Dark Thirty just charged to the front of the pack of Best Picture Oscar contenders? Kathryn Bigelow’s thriller about the mission to kill Osama bin Laden was named Best Picture by the National Board of Review Wednesday, beating out contenders like Lincoln and Les Miserables. The film also won Best Actress for Jessica Chastain and Best Director for Bigelow. Best Actor went to Bradley Cooper for the rom-com Silver Linings Playbook, while Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Supporting Actor for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming spaghetti western Django Unchained and Ann Down took Best Supporting Actress for the indie Compliance. The cast of Les Miserables was awarded a prize for Best Ensemble.
