The Hungarian star’s health is once again in the spotlight, this time for a life-saving amputation. Zsa Zsa Gabor was hospitalized on January 2 after antibiotics failed to heal a wound in her right leg. The wound turned gangrenous, and doctors decided an amputation was necessary. "Ms Gabor needed an amputation above her knee due to poor circulation and a large ulcerated area on her right leg," said Dr Rigberg of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, adding that “The surgery today went well, however, she is in frail health.” A car accident, a stroke, and hip replacement surgery have hospitalized Gabor intermittently for the last ten years.
