Director and screenwriter Wes Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio and holds a Master's degree in writing and philosophy from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. His first film was Last House on the Left in 1972. Since then he wrote and directed The Hills Have Eyes, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and many others.
